About Us

Spring-UP Global Network is a Non-Governmental organization, registered in April 2019 in Ghana. We are a network of youth mentors advancing basic quality education with focus on mentoring children in rural communities in Ghana. Spring-UP Global Network was born out of the need to bridge the gap of the inadequate number of youth mentors committed to provide career guidance, motivation and emotional support to basic school children living in deprived communities in Ghana.

At SUGN, we agree with the words of Former First Lady of the United States, Lady Bird Johnson that “children are likely to live up to what you believe of  them.” SUGN embarked on its first outreach in April, 2019.

Spring-UP Global Network was founded by Ms. Akorfa Ama Akoto, a Ghanaian youth and a strong advocate for the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal 4, with much focus on underprivileged children’s inclusiveness and access to quality education.

Our programs are designed to improve the foundational learning skills of children in hard-to-reach public basic schools and communities leading to improved equitable access to literature and digital literacy.

The organization is transforming the lives of underprivileged children in primary and junior high schools through mentorship and donations. We seek to promote quality and inclusive education by changing their worldview for the better. SUGN aims to ignite a passion to succeed in the hearts and minds of underprivileged children in orphanages and underprivileged schools.

By mentoring children through SUGN programmes, I have been able to impact a greater number of students and help change their mindsets about education, career prospects and know there is no limit. In this regards, SUGN has helped me develop my team and project management skill along with people skills. The volunteering experience has also taught me to be resilient.
