Deloitte and SUGN Commision Two School Libraries in the Ashanti Region

On Friday 12th May 2023, two school libraries in the Ashanti region were commissioned under the Deloitte WorldClass Initiative.

State Experimental M/A Basic Schools and the Konongo M/A Mines Basic Schools now have a well resourced school library thanks to the Deloitte WorldClass Initiative in Ghana.

Deloitte and Spring-UP Global Network refurbished the two libraries stocked with over thousand books, mainly African authored for the two public basic schools in the Ashanti Region.

Since the launch of the Deloitte WorldClass initiative in Ghana, two regions – Greater Accra and Ashanti have benefited from the project.

Konongo M/A Mines Basic School Library

On behalf of the Ghana Education Service, Mr Stephen Kwaku Owusu, Ag Deputy Director-General of GES (Management Services) received the two (2) libraries and commended Deloitte and Spring-UP Global Network for the intervention.

Also in attendance at the commissioning ceremonies were Dr William Amankrah Appiah, Ashanti Regional Director of Education, GES; Mr Daniel Owusu, Deloitte Ghana Country Manager; Mr Ofosu Frimpong, Ashanti Regional Director, Ghana Library Authority; Mr Obeng Asenso Owusu, School Management Committee Chairman; Mr David Oppong, Kumasi Metro Director of Education; Mr Victor Buabeng, Ashanti, Ahafo and Bono Coordinator for Coderina; Mr Eric Kwesi Oppong, Project Director, iRead iLead Campaign (SUGN); Akorfa Ama Akoto, Executive Director, Spring-UP Global Network.
